Dasawisma Cadres must Be More Active in Combating Hoaxes

The Jakarta Communication, Information and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik) held a Diskotalk Series #1 Webinar with the theme 'Bergerak Melawan Covid-19 (Dasawisma fighting Covid-19), Wednesday (8/18). They were directed to be more active in educating the community, especially to avoid hoax information or news.

Jakarta TP PKK Chairwoman, Fery Farhati in her speech revealed that people should be grateful as Jakarta's condition has gradually improved. However, they should remain vigilant under health protocols and maximize activities at home.

"You have a duty to record and publish information in your respective environment. Every cadre is responsible for 10-20 houses in the vicinity. During this pandemic, you play a very strategic role in realizing information about the prevention of Covid-19," she expressed.

She invited the webinar participants to continuously comply with the health protocol and to collect data on the affected residents. So far, Jakarta has 76,115 Dasawisma cadres.

"This webinar is an appreciation and also an opportunity for us to inform valid news and report hoax news to the authorities," she explained.

He stressed that Dasawisma should be active, protecting Jakarta's families by ensuring that people have access to accurate, precise and useful information.

Diskominfotik Head, Atika Nur Rahmania revealed, the pandemic had changed a lot of things. Among them were patterns of interaction and transactions. Nowadays, people are increasingly looking at their cellphone screens at work, school, etc.

"We often see problems arise. So much information we get from sources that are not valid. Your presence means a lot to Jakarta. Hopefully, this collaboration will continue during the pandemic to educate and provide understanding. According to this theme, to eradicate hoaxes," she expressed.
